    2017. Wow. It seems kind of surreal still. Last time I checked Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century was still the coolest movie ever, Spice Girls ruled the world and oh yeah, it was the 90s! Okay, I may be exaggerating juuuuust a bit, but really—2016 flew!

    Although it was gone in the blink of an eye, overall, 2016 was a pretty good year.

    For starters, it was the year ChalkWhimsy launched. I still can’t believe my little business is almost a year old! A lot has happened since then—a lot of successes have been celebrated and a lot of failures have been condoled with large glasses of wine. And chocolate. Lots of chocolate. Through year number one of my business journey I have designed, marketed and implemented my brand, flown solo to a conference in Texas for creatives, grown my creative tribe and made some really awesome friends on social media platforms like Instagram, expanded my product line, worked with amazing customers, troubleshot software from here to Timbuktu, and sooooooo much more.

    I learned a lot about myself too. I learned that being a small business owner is HARD WORK. I learned that the entrepreneurial world can make or break you, and I’ve definitely been broken…a few times. I learned that even though I’ve felt like giving up on my small business dream a million, trillion different times, I never did.

    I am so grateful for how far ChalkWhimsy has come during 2016, and I’m ecstatic to see how much more I can do for my small business in 2017. It’s time to get the notebooks and pretty pens our out because I’m ready to start making lists, planning and achieving those new years goals!

    {Mini shout out to all you amazing customers who have helped ChalkWhimsy grow, and continue to grow. You’re THE BEST!}

    Another pretty cool thing about 2016? It’s the year my best friend asked me to marry him. Oh, and I sad YES! Wedding planning, commence!

    It seems 2017 has some pretty big things in store for my business, but also for my personal life as well. And. I. Am. Stoked.

    My January mantra: “Hello New Year, let’s do this!” Who’s with me?

    What was your greatest takeaway from 2016 + what are you most excited for / to tackle in this New Year?
